उनकी अदा निहायत वा नेक है

हमारी खुबसूरत यादों में वह एक है

तसव्वुर है नयनों में उनका

यादों में भी उनकी महक है।

“कस्साम तेरे चेहरे  का नूर

महफ़िल में सब हो गए मदहोश

दीवाने खोए हैं दीदार में इतना

तसव्वुर नयनों में लिए सब हैं खामोश।”

“Kassam tere chehre ka noor

mehfil mai sab ho gaye madhosh

deewane khoye deedar mai itna

tasvur nayon mai liye sab hai khamosh.”

“The  light on your face

everyone got drunk at the party

The crazy people are so lost in sight

Everything is silent for the picture in the eyes.”

“अहमियत अपनों को दिया करते हैं

होते हैं कुछ लोग जो सपनों में जिया करते हैं

महफ़िल में सुनाते हैं जो उल्फत का तराना

होते हैं वो बदनाम रखते हैं अंदाज आशिकाना ।”

“We give importance to our own people,

there are some people who live in dreams,

recite the song of love in gatherings,

sometimes keep the style of love in disrepute.”

“तारीफ करना तो उनकी फितरत है

और आशिकाना उनका अंदाज

हमें तो भरोसा है अपने ईलाही पर

तुम को ही माना अपना इंतखाब।”

“To praise is their habit,

and love is their style,

we have faith in our God,

we have chosen you only.”

“खुदा ने उल्फत को बनाया

इन्सान ने मानी करामात खुदा की

उल्फत की महफ़िल में होती उनकी तौसीफ

फिर भी कहे बेहया उनको ज़माना।”

“God created love,

man accepted God’s miracle,

he is praised in the gathering of love,

yet the world calls him shameless.”

“उनकी मेहरबानी से हम दूर हैं

कौन कहता है कि हम मगरुर हैं

हमें तो इकरार है अपनी मोहब्बत का

लगता है उन्हें आजमाईश का शौक़ है।”

“We are far away from their kindness,

who says that we are proud,

we have faith in our love,

it seems that they are fond of trials.”

“उनकी अदा बड़ी लाजिम है

बार-बार दिल को तड़पाए

पास जाने से घबराता है दिल

दूर रह कर भी उनसे रहा ना जाए।”

“His style is perfect,

he torments the heart again and again,

the heart is afraid to go near him,

it cannot be lived even after being away from them.”

“मेरी मोहब्बत से तुम वाक़िफ नहीं

बख़ूबी से तुमने दामन छुड़ाया

तुम निकले मोहब्बत के क़ातिल

और हमने कातिलों से दिल लगाया।”

“You are not aware of my love,

you got rid of it very well,

you turned out to be the murderer of love,

and we fell in love with the murderers.”

“ज़िन्दगी हेरत है मुमताज़

हर कोई नहीं है मुस्तकीम

मिदहत तो कोई भी कर ले

यूं ही ना करना खुद को निसार।”

not everyone is straight,

no matter who praises you,

don’t just ignore yourself.”

“महफ़िल की ख्वाहिश दिल में रही

दिल में मोहब्बत का चिराग हमने जलाया

आपकी मोहब्बत साथ रही है इसलिए

नज़राना आपकी खिदमत में लाया।”

“The desire of the gathering remained in the heart,

we lit the lamp of love in the heart,
